100-Word Fringe: “Comedy Countdown” at Gilded Balloon

Sometimes after a long day at work you just need a fucking consonant. As someone raised on Countdown, and who enjoys laughing out loud and in groups, I’m usually a fixture in the Comedy Countdown audience every year. Hosted by Dan Atkinson and Carol-ed by the arithmetically gifted Paul Sinha, the show revolves new comedian contestants every night while occassionally throwing attention to the increasingly deranged, and French, dictionary corner. Not just hilarious but educationally important to our children, Comedy Countdown is where it’s at of a weekday midnight, even if the conundrum is a sweet crumbling bitch. Fucking “INDULGENT”.

Comedy Countdown is playing Monday-Thursday in the Gilded Balloon until August 25th.

Tickets: £5
